The Mermaid Series is back... With a very special makeup look!
A personal tradition of mine is to create a look inspired by my favourite Disney Princess (guess who XD) on my birthday... And so I did this year, of course! Although I am a liiittle late with this post since my birthday was two days ago, whoops XD
Every year I manage to make the same makeup look different to the previous ones. The first one (2015 version) was created using mainly mineral makeup; last year's (2016 version) was way more Nabla-centered.
So... "what now?" you may wondering.
Well, I was lucky enough to receive some MakeUp Geek eyeshadows as birthday gift from a family member! (The haul post with swatches will be up next week, I'm already working on it!)
So, that being said, this year's version was the perfect opportunity to welcome this brand into my stash - thus it was very MUG-centered! *_*

This is look is pretty iconic and special to me, so I keep the colour scheme more or less the same: aqua/teal gradient on the upper lid, lilac/purple shades on the lower and Swarovski crystals as final touch. The outcome tends to vary since I use different products, but overall the vibe, the spirit of this look is the same.
I was so eager to try out the new shadows I got (I picked up 9 eyeshadow pans + 1 foiled), so I did my best to use as many as I could for this look. (Not a big deal honestly, since I chose aqua, teals, blue and purples shades XD You'll see better in my haul post).

I started off by applying an eyeprimer, as usual. This time I used Too Faced's Shadow Insurance Original. First of all, I applied a pale but bright and shimmery aqua shade on my inner corner - and I used a mineral pigment which I'm pretty sure I used also in both previous versions of this look. (Note after a quick check: yes I did). It's very unfortunate that this mineral brand (Jade Minerals) doesn't exist anymore.
Moving to the upper lid, I used Makeup Geek's Foiled Eyeshadow in Pegasus on about 3/4 of the lid. This shade is amazing: so bright and sparkly and metallic *______* (I regret a little not asking for more foiled shadows XD)
On the outer corner & crease I applied Shark Bait (from the "classic" eyeshadow pan range), a matte, bluish-green shade. I created a soft V shape with incredible ease: this shadow practically blends itself as you go - without loosing its intensity.

To add depth to the outer corner of the lid, I applied Under Pressure eyeshadow by NABLA Cosmetics. It got along with Shark Bait wonderfully, adding depth and sheer to the matte blending (after all, you hardly choose matte shades for a mermaid look, don't you?).
As transition shade I used another shadow by MUG - a matte mint green named Shore Thing. I have a feeling it will become my go-to transition colour whenever I make an aqua/teal/green look! I applied Antique White on my brow bone, then I moved to my lower lids - where I used two more shades by Makeup Geek.
First of all I applied Hopscotch (a matte pale lilac), then I applied Chit Chat (shimmery periwinkle) very close to the lashline. On the lashline itself I applied Nocturne by NABLA.
Eyeliner time: the usual black mineral pigment used wet with Fix +.
I completed the look with false lashes, mascara, black eyepencil and - of course - swarovski crystals... In a teal shade this year, instead of clear.
Final note regarding eyebrows and lips: this time I went back to MAC's Eyebrow pencil in Strut - because Mars is not red enough... And I had to use something reddish this time for my brows XD Lips were red too, of course - I just forgot to take a picture D:

Must say, this year's version is my favourite so far ♥___♥ Especially in terms of shades, those MUG shadows are so gorgeous and fitting! I know I say this every year - but I can't really get tired this look... I will probably never be!
And from now on this makeup look will be more meaningful than ever, because it matches so nicely a very special dress...
If you follow me on Instagram you probably have already seen this dress (this picture was taken during Christmas-time) ♥ It was amazing - pardon, mermazing! - to spend the holidays and my birthday wearing it *___* Now I feel I found the perfect makeup - plus, as you can see, I found the perfect clutch... which happens to be the Glam Clam by Spectrum Collections XD (Yeah it's a makeup brush case but yes, it works nicely as clutch too :p)
Anyway, back to the makeup: I think I will wear it not only on my birthdays but also every time I'll get to wear this dress! (Needless to say, can't wait for Carnival XD)
