Today I'm going to talk about a product that I've been using and loving so, so much lately. I used it in almost each and every makeup look I created during the last two months... Please give a round of applause to the Dazzle Liner in Klimt by NABLA Cosmetics - aka my current makeup obsession.

(It usually takes me a long time to write a review. I need to test everything in both summer AND winter time, because my skin changes depending on the temperatures - and so do my needs. But, since this is a limited edition product, by the time I'll be ready to write a full review, it will be most likely gone... But this product really deserves a dedicated post. So I had to find a compromise, and that's where the Part of my World series comes in. I created this series two years, and it's intended to gather all my first impressions regarding a product/collection/etc. I haven't been "using" it in a while actually, but I blew the dust off it recently and I realized it still works for first impressions/preliminary reviews like this one.) 

So without further ado, let's get started!

Liquid gold with a chromatic effect in a mirrored texture which enhances the look with bright and sumptuous warm reflections. Ideal to frame the eyes or to create small decorative details, like filigree, which embellish the look by interpreting it in a unique and exclusive way.

Klimt is the very first (and not the last, I hope!) Dazzle Liner NABLA ever released. It is part - actually, I'd say it's the cherry on top - of their winter collection, the Goldust Collection (haul here).

The packaging is simple and essential, yet stylish. The clear pack shows the product in all its beauty, while the cap is black and decorated with a design in perfect Art Déco style. Inside, the cap comes with a small wand with a teeny tiny brush at the end. 

I can't even express how much I waited and hoped for NABLA to create liquid liners. So, when they announced their winter collection, the very first thing that caught my attention was Klimt - no wonder. Finally, an eyeliner! In such a stunning and unique shade, also. I was over the moon to say the least. Unfortunately, NABLA made Klimt a limited edition product - a very poor decision in my opinion. 

The formula, to me, is perfect: not too dense, not too liquid. Dries fast and, once dried, it won't move, fade, crease or wear away. It'll just stick to the skin, lasting hours and hours - from morning till night. And, since it's so light, you might even forget you're wearing it. It's not that kind of heavy products you can feel all the time, if you know what I mean. Most importantly, it's highly pigmented and rich. 

It is quite resistant to both water and rubbing (unless you start rubbing your eyes furiously, of course). It's not supposed to be waterproof - but my tests so far showed that it can withstand water, within certain limits of course. For example, one day I was wearing it at the hairdresser, who accidentally poured some water on my eyes. When I checked my makeup at the mirror, I noticed that Klimt was still there, intact. 

Application is incredibly easy, thanks to the formula but also thanks to the fine brush. It is SO thin (as you can see in the picture on the right) and the bristles are reasonably flexible. It picks up just the right amount of product you need. Overall, it is perfect to achieve the classic winged liner, but also to draw any kind of lines, swirls and dots.

Another thing I absolutely love about this product, is that it doesn't affect or gets affected by other liners. Meaning, if you can safely apply Klimt on top of a black/any colored liner, it won't get altered or alter the colour underneath in any way.
If NABLA manages to nail this very same formula in other shades, then they'll have an excellent new range to offer! (I really, really hope that Klimt won't end up being an only child!)

Back to Klimt. It's colour is absolutely divine. A gorgeous, eye-catching, sparkling gold with red hues in it. I've never seen this particular shade of gold in an eyeliner, it's so unique - also because it slightly changes depending on lighting and angle/viewpoint. See swatch below.

My only complain about this product is... it being a limited edition. I honestly don't get it. I mean: it's unique in terms of, well, everything; it's high quality, the best piece of the collection, hopefully the first of a new range... And it's not permanent. *slow clapping*

Seriously though... I just don't see how a product with all the qualities listed above could be limited edition. 

I know that the shade might not be universally appreciated - it's uniqueness can be a double-edged sword (loved by those who like this kind of colours, skipped by those who prefer more classic or more natural shades)... Nevertheless, I do believe Klimt 100% deserves to be a permanent product!

I'm not officially rating this product because this not a full review - I still need to test it during summertime & warm temperature. Sadly, by the time I'll be able to do that, it'll be sold out and discontinued. Sigh.

♕ Helix Eyeliner ♕

I've just realized that I completely forgot to post this look on here o___O" I was SO sure I posted it - like, weeks ago, right after New Year's Day. Where-was-my-head? D:
Well, at least I noticed in time - poor this look, forgotten in the drafts section -   and I'm going to get back on track this very second!

So, in today's post I'm going to show you my very first attempt at the helix eyeliner technique - which is pretty famous on Instagram, I've seen sooo many different styles and finally I decided to give it a try. This was another good occasion to use Klimt - aka the ever-present-lately Dazzle Liner by NABLA Cosmetics aka my current obsession. 

Being the first time attempting this design, I kept it easy: there are, like, endlessly ways of doing the helix eyeliner - single helix, double helix, just on the wing or on the whole line, two helix wrapped together... And so on. I decided to go for a single helix, just on the wing of my black eyeliner. Very simple yet still very noticeable - especially since I used Klimt, which is so eye-catching. 

To match the gold helix, I decided to do a goldish eye makeup. Nothing elaborate actually.

After applying the eyeprimer (this time I used the Crème Shadow in Morning Glory), I applied Danae on my inner corner, followed by Cleo all over the lid. On the outer corner, crease and lower lid I applied Unrestricted: I carefully blended it into Cleo where needed, creating a smooth gradient.
I used Petra as transition shade - it's the perfect matte warm shadow for this kind of looks.
I applied Antique White on my brow bone and Nocturne on the lower lashline - by doing so, I was pretty much done with the shadows.

For the eyeliner + helix liner I proceeded like this: first of all I traced the black line (as always, using a black liner that is essentially a black pigment mixed with some drops of Fix +). I made sure the outer wing was a little longer than usual - the longer the wing, the more "loops" you can draw.
Then I took Klimt and started drawing the helix from the outer corner, right below the wing: I moved up and applied the gold liner on top of the black one, designed a curve, moved down and skipped the wing, then I designed the curve below... And repeat.
I was a little worried that the two liners would mix together, when I applied Klimt on top of the black eyeliner... But it didn't happen at all, phew. Well done, Klimt!
I made sure I liked the curves, fixed here and there if I felt the need... Then I applied falsies, mascara and black eyepencil on the waterlines - and I was done.

♕ Fairy Queen Make Up ♕{Feat. Nabla Cosmetics ~ Goldust Collection}

I'm really excited about the look I'm going to show you today! It features my favourite piece of the Goldust Collection by NABLA Cosmetics aka the Dazzle Liner in Klimt. Since I first saw it, I knew I had to do a look just for it, focused on it, to show and enhance its beauty.

Even thought I didn't have any particular inspiration, I realized this look gives a lot of fairy vibes - with all the tiny dots and swirls. The more I look at it, the more it makes me feel like a Fairy Queen - if I were a fairy queen, I would wear this makeup look every single day... Hence the title ;D

After the first test run look (here), where I managed to use all the Goldust products I bought, I decided to do the Klimt focused makeup I was dreaming of since day 1.

At the very beginning, I thought I would go for nude lids, barely contoured - to make the gold liner stand out - but, on a second thought, I decided to apply an eyeshadow that could get along with the liner. So I chose Danae, my second favourite product from this collection - and my favourite eyeshadow so far. It has a bronze base and it's filled with gold glitters - in one word, perfect for this looks.
(Needless to say, all the products used for this look are by NABLA Cosmetics, unless where stated. Check the full products list for further details!)

First thing first, I applied the Crème Shadow in Morning Glory all over the lid as eyeprimer (I really, really like to use it as eye base lately). I applied Glasswork on the inner corner (still disappointed by its colourless base) and Danae all over the lid, outer corner and crease included. I added some depth by using Unrestricted on the outer corner & crease - just a subtle touch, as I didn't want the look to be really intense...
I used Narciso as transition shade, to create the most evanescent blending ever; on my brown bone I used - guess what? - Antique White.

Done that, the most exciting part: time to use Klimt *_____*
First of all, I drew the classic winged line, with a sharp edge on the inner corner. Then I got creative and traced swirls here and there, in a fairy-like pattern, and then I placed some dots on both inner and outer corner. The result is amazing, thanks to Klimt's unique duochrome colour: it changes from gold to pinkish to red, depending on the angle and how the light hits it. Seriously amazing, the fact that this liner is limited edition is unforgivable.

I completed the look with the usual drill: black eyepencil on the waterline and lashline, false lashes, mascara and brows.

That'is it! Pretty simple, as you can see - Klimt is the key product here, does half of the job on its own, effortlessly. I can't stress enough how perfect its shade is - but also its texture, not too liquid nor too dense. I wore it for hours, like the whole day, and it lasted, stayed in place without fading or tearing off. The little brush that comes with it's perfect for my taste and skills - very thin, flexible and precise. It allowed me to easily draw lines, swirls and dots, and I mean easily. 100% happy with it and 100% sad that it isn't permanent ç_ç

Why, NABLA, why?

Danae, on the other hand, it's the perfect companion for Klimt here - not too dark, not too light, very bright and shiny - yet it doesn't overwhelm the liner. Way better that plain nude lids, in my opinion ;D

♕ Goldust MakeUp #1: Soft Shades & Gold Liner ♕{Feat. Nabla Cosmetics ~ Goldust Collection}

Today I'm going to show you the first makeup look I made a couple of days ago to try the new shades from NABLA's Goldust Collection (here's my haul post!). I used all the four shadows I bought (Luna, Snowberry, Glasswork, Danae) plus the gold Dazzle Liner - which is my new love and main focus of this look. 

That day I had really little spare time, so I just grabbed my new products and made a very easy peasy look. I kept it very soft because the shades I purchased are all very natural (except Danae which is a little stronger) and also because I wanted the gold eyeliner, Klimt, to be the key product, the main focus of the look. (Yes it was love at first sight and yes, it's my favourite product of the entire collection so far)

I started off by applying my eye base (this time I went back to Too Faced's Shadow Insurance), then I applied Glasswork on my inner corner - to be honest I didn't anticipate it to be so... Colourless. Its hazelnut base simply vanished, once applied D: I tried to layer it a bit, unsuccessfully. It reminds me (way to much) of Water Dream - which also has almost no base colour, and is full of glitters.
I applied Luna all over the lid, followed by Snowberry on my crease and outer corner. Narciso and Antique White are, as always, the transition colour and brow bone shade respectively.
Luna and Snowberry make a nice colour combination, very natural and wearable - they give me Naked 3 vibes - but also a little flat for my taste. That's were the gold liner comes in!

I applied Klimt as I would do with any other eyeliner: I drew a pretty thick line (because I knew I wanted to apply the black liner below, also) and I got really excited to see how easy it is to apply. I love its teeny tiny brush, its fluid and perfectly pigmented formula - and of course its shade, so unique.
I drew the black line right below the gold one, keeping it thin - as I didn't want it to cover/overwhelm the main gold line.

We're almost done - I applied Danae on the lower lid (spoiler: it is my favourite shadow from this collection), then completed the look by applying eye kohl, false lashes and mascara.

So here's the first look I made to try out the new colours from the Goldust Collection! Some behaved as I was expecting (Luna, Snowberry), others surprised me a lot (Danae), while other let me down a bit (Glasswork). The Dazzle Liner in Klimt is definitely the jewel in the crown of this collection - I'm already planning to buy a backup, since it's a limited edition. 

Overall I liked this look - a little too plain for my taste, but it was easy and quick to make, and very wearable, I'll give it that... But I can't wait to show you the look I did next, which is waaay more exciting :p

♕ Haul ♕ Nabla Cosmetics ~ Goldust Collection ♕

Yesterday was the first day of December - which means two things: Christmas is right around the corner, and NABLA's new winter collection - the Goldust Collection - just debuted. I've been at the local seller shop right away, so I had the chance to see all the products featured in this collection - and , while I was at it, I also purchased something, which I'm going to show you in this post.

This year's winter collection is seriously huge, the biggest ever released until now. Eight eyeshadows, one Crème Shadows, two Blossom Blushes, five Dive Crime lipsticks, two new limited edition Liberty palettes and - the icing on the cake - a brand new product: a liquid eyeliner!

The theme of this collection is the Belle Époque, its styles of art (Art Nouveau and Deco), its atmosphere, parties... And the gold colour of course.
Honestly though, just looking at the colours I feel I can't really grasp the soul of this collection. I feel like some shades are off topic, while others fit nicely the theme... Just like the Mermaid Collection, that, to me, felt somehow imbalanced thanks to a couple of shades. 
It is also supposed to be a Christmas collection but... I don't get any Christmas vibes, honestly. More like The Great Gatsby vibes for me!

Sticking to the subject, I'm a little sad that the eyeshadows range doesn't include any brand-new shades - meaning, something groundbreaking, never seen before. (Apart for that green shade that killed me a little, so to speak). There are pinks, copper, gold - mind you, shades that I personally like... yet all already-seen-before. I like the lipsticks range better - fits nicely the theme and also almost all the shades are new and original.
Anyway, this collection does introduce a couple of new things: first of all, the above-mentioned liquid eyeliner - 100% out of the blue, completely unexpected and probably the product that got me excited the most. (Must say I'm a little sad that they introduced just the gold shade... I need a black eyeliner by NABLA. Anyone feels the same?)
Secondly, they introduced a brand new eyeshadow texture - after the Super Bright, now it's the turn of the Super Matte texture. 

So this collection is innovative, in some ways... Just not as much as I wished it was, I guess. In terms of colours, mostly. I wait NABLA's seasonal collection like crazy, and this one let me down a little. My piggy bank and I were so ready to invest in some new NABLA eyeshadow (because they're always a good investment) but this collection is a bit unlucky for my needs - since most of the shades don't suit me. Sigh. 

Anyway, there is a couple of things that intrigued me quite a bit - and I simply could not skip a whole collection from my favourite brand! Right? Right!
So - as I said before - yesterday afternoon I went to my trusted seller and did some shopping!

Being on a tight budget, I had to be very selective - so I focused on the eyeshadows (you know, my biggest makeup addiction ever XD) and the new eyeliner (seriously, I HAD to try it, no matter what). Reluctantly, I left out the Crème Shadow, a blush, the two Diva Crimes that caught my attention (Arabesque and Dragonfire, in case you're wondering) and the two palettes. 
For this reason, since I ended up buying just a handful of products, this not meant to be an overview - just a lighthearted, chatty haul. 

Sooo here's what I bought: the eyeliner plus four eyeshadows (Luna, Snowberry, Danae and Glasswork).

Dazzle Liner in "Klimt"
"Lightly duochrome red gold."
As I previously said, I couldn't miss the eyeliner - I've been wishing for an eyeliner made by NABLA for ages, seriously. Again, I'm a little sad that it doesn't come in black - but I'm still excited for it! Plus, Klimt comes in a really new and unseen-before shade of gold. It's not just plain gold: it is rose/red gold, truly unique. Probably the most iconic and unique product of the entire collection! *_* (Bonus: love the name. Klimt is one of my favourite artist of all time, and matches so well this shade of gold!)

Such a shame that it's limited edition - I wonder why it is. Maybe it's just an experiment, a test run to see how it goes and how interested people is... Maybe it's the tip of the iceberg, the prelude of a new eyeliner range (that would be so cool!). I don't know, I guess we need to wait and see... Meanwhile, I'll keep my fins crossed ;D

Luna
"Light pink champagne. Bright"
Did you know I have a thing for pinks? I just cannot resist to them, and Luna makes no exception. It's very pale, yet pigmented. It's supposed to be the highlighter of the collection, but I already know that I will use it on my whole lids as main shade. Must look very pretty at the center of the lid in a halo eyes look. 

Snowberry
"Warm dusty rose. Satin"
I ran the risk with this shade, because it's quite warm - and warm shades tend not to look good on me (with some exception, of course"). Again, it's a pink/rose shade, and I couldn't resist to it. Kind of a rose gold, but not really at the same time. This is one of those shade that really fit the theme of the collection, in my opinion.
Haven't worn it yet, will do tomorrow hopefully... Let's all hope it will suit me XD




Danae
"Intense bronze-gold. Celestial"
When I saw it online, I had mixed feeling about it. I was curious and yet hesitant. I'm not into brown shade (as you may already know if you've been following me for a while), but those gold sparkles totally caught my attention.
It's the first shade I swatched as soon as I reached the shop. Thankfully (for me) I noticed that the dreaded bronze/brown base was way more bronze than brown - and that the gold/copper shimmer was just irresistible and beautiful. Another shade that fits perfectly the atmosphere of the collection. 


Glasswork
"Hazelnut-mauve. Celestial"
This particular shade is quite ambiguous to me - not in a negative way, though. The hazelnut base is really light, it barely shows up once applied - but the silver sparkles are very noticeable. It might have potential, I need to play around with it a little! 
(I also have a thing for Celestials, that's why I got it no matter how doubtful I was XD)



Regarding what I didn't purchase: Radikal and Paprica are the two shades featuring the new Super-Matte texture (which feels silky like no other) because of their colours... I was eager to try the new texture, but honestly I don't think I'd use those shades a lot. Paprika might have a chance, perhaps, but Radikal is simply anti-Ariel. Nope nope nope. 
I was ready to buy Ludwig because of its Super-Bright texture (since I love Calypso, first eyeshadow ever with this texture) but... I don't know, when I swatched it didn't look like a Super-Bright. Just a "common" bright. Really unimpressed, I decided to leave it there. 
Absinthe is simply not my cup of tea, as I don't like the brown base + teal shimmer combo (which is already-seen-before, fyi). 
Anyway 4 out of 8 eyeshadows overall is not bad - it could've been worse XD

I had to skip the rest of the collection because I couldn't afford any more, but if I could I'd buy Harper (the paler blush) because it seems to be such a cute and wearable shade - Satellite of Love (the darker) looks amazing but I'm not sure I would actually use that kind of shade. I'd also buy the Crème Shadow in Dusk (it's a golden pink, but still a pink, duh), and two or three of the new Diva Crime lipsticks. I'd go for Dragonfire and Arabesque - the first one is the most beautiful red I've ever seen, while the second is a nice medium berry shade I could deal with quite easily. I also got intrigued by Moulin Rouge - which didn't impress me when I saw it online... But totally reconsidered it once I saw it in person. Not sure it would fit me though... 
(The remaining two shades are Bye Bye Birdie - the nude - which is brownish and so a big NOPE, and Dilemma - the darkest and most eye-catchy of the collection... Which really scares me, lol XD Too dark, too brown, too everything XD).
Last but not least, I'd buy the two palette - both for storage and collection reasons. But I should be able to get them quite soon, I guess (I'm running low on space for the refills, so they're a serious need!).
Writing all this stuff down in my wishlist, for future reference, hehe. Thankfully none of these products are limited edition - just the gold packaging of the lipsticks is, but not the lipsticks themselves. 

Some quick swatches - and I really mean quick, just to show you what the shades looks like once applied on my skin. Glasswork and Luna are quite discreet - in their own way - while Danae really stand out... And Klimt is the most precious shade ever *__* I'm seriously in love, I'm pretty sure I will use it a lot in my upcoming makeup looks!
