♕ The Pokémon Series ~ Sylveon ♕{Eeveelutions Mini Series}

Happy 1st of May everyone!
I know, bet you're thinking: "a Pokémon look again?" - since I posted Glaceon's just a couple of days ago XD You see, I decided to go ahead and post the last eeveelutions inspired makeup today as I have way too much looks to blog about left behind!

So here's the final episode of the Eeveelutions mini series (part of The Pokémon Series) ♥
We're done with Gen IV eeveelutions so now there's only one more to see, since Gen VI featured only one new evolution (sadly). This is actually my favourite one along with Vaporeon, please meet Sylveon, the most elegant and sweet and kawaii of all eeveelutions! *___*

Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon.

Type: Fairy 

"Sylveon affectionately wraps its ribbon-like feelers around its Trainer's arm as they walk together. It sends a soothing aura from its ribbon-like feelers to calm fights. "

With Sylveon was love at first sight. I liked its cute and sweet design, yes - bright blue eyes, white fur with pink paws, ears and tail, with two bows on the neck and one ear, from where two pairs of ribbon-like feelers unravel. But the think that totally stole my heart was its behavior: it uses its ribbons to hold its Trainer hand while they walk together. How cute is it?! ♥____♥ Plus, it's Fairy type - my favourite along with Water and Fire!

Just like Glaceon's look, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted this makeup to look like. I only partially succeeded though: overall the look ended up pretty good, but the ribbons feel a little stiff, if you know what I mean.

Due to the graphic style of this look, I did a lot of pencil base work before applying all the powders - having a well defined base design was crucial. So, after priming my lids, I took a white base and applied that all over the lid - from inner to outer corner (as I planned to do a cut crease). With the same pencil, I drew the bow on the tear duct and the two ribbons (and that was the hardest part of the whole process, honestly. I wanted them to look more graceful and flowing but they were hardest to design than I anticipated).
Then I used a pink lip pencil ans used that as eyeliner, to cut the crease and for the small pink details: the bow on the tear duct, the lower lashline and the ribbon's stripes. I did the same with a dark blue pencil and a paler blue pencil (which I later used on my waterline too).

Now that the base design is all set, I applied all the powers to keep the pencils in place. I used a white matte pigment all over the lids, on the tear duct and on the ribbons; a bright pink blush (Blossom Blush in Daisy by NABLA Cosmetics) wherever I used the pink lip pencil, blended on the crease and lower lid, and as eyeliner (I mixed it with some drop of fix + for that purpose). I used Baltic eyeshadow by NABLA and Baby Blue Loose Pigment by NYX for the blue details.
I completed the look by applying Antique White on the brow bone (avoiding carefully to touch the ribbon below), then I added false lashes and applied mascara as final touches.

♕ The Pokémon Series ~ Glaceon ♕{Eeveelutions Mini Series}

New episode of The Pokémon Series! We are currently in Gen IV: last week I posted Leafeon's inspired look and today it's the turn of its companion in this generation: Glaceon, the ice type eeveelutions.  This is the second to last eeveelutions, next episode will be the final one of this mini series! (But I'll be doing more Pokémon inspired looks in the future for sure, I already have some ideas running through my mind ;D)

Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokémon.

Type: Ice

"By controlling its body heat, it can freeze the atmosphere around it to make a diamond-dust flurry. As a protective technique, it can completely freeze its fur to make its hairs stand like needles."

Being a former ice skater, I've always had a thing for Glaceon ♥___♥ It has an ice-blue fur, a blue tuft on top of its head and matching dangles , deep teal rhombus marks on its back, tail and dangles that match its paws. I really love its design, and I couldn't wait to do this look... But when its turn finally came I didn't really managed to made it the way I pictured it in my mind, plus the application ended up being quite uneven - especially on the lid area. And I really wish I had Shark Bait eyeshadow by MUG back then, as I think it would match perfectly Glaceon's paws and marking - better than the shadow I used. I did my best with what I had available - but I'm not really happy with this look outcome. The only thing I really like is that it shines like snow - which is appropriate, considering this is an ice type Pokémon XD

After priming my lids I started off with the main lid shade: I used a pale green pigment as a base, so to speak, and I applied it all over the lid. On top of it I applied a NYX pigment ("Baby Blue") to achieve that shimmery, icy-blue shade. (The two pigments didn't really get along, hence the uneven result)
On the crease I applied Under Pressure by NABLA Cosmetics; I left part of the outer corner empty, for the eyeliner geometrical design. I used Fossil as transition shade, Antique White as brow bone shade and Baby Blue again on the inner corner.

As eyeliner I used a turquoise pencil: I applied it normally but I drew the wing in a rhombus shape - just like Glaceon's tail; with a deep teal pencil I added the rhombus mark at the end of the wing, and I also applied it on the lower lashline and waterline. To keep the the pencils in place I fixed them with a pale blue eyeshadows (which I don't own anymore and can't recall its name) for the eyeliner part ,and Under Pressure where I used the darker pencil.
I completed the look with false lashes and mascara.

♕ The Pokémon Series ~ Leafeon ♕{Eeveelutions Mini Series}

Happy weekend everyone! I have a new episode of The Pokémon Series for you today :D We are done with Gen II eeveelutions so now we are going to see Gen IV eeveelutions (in case you're wondering, eeveelutions are release every other generations): Leafeon, the grass type evolution, and Glaceon, the ice type one. Today I am going to show Leafeon, one of the cutest and sweetest eeveelutions ♥_♥ I'd like to dedicate this look to my friend Lyra, as I know Leafeon is one of her favourites ♥

Leafeon, the Verdant Pokémon.

Type: Grass

"It basically does not fight. With cells similar to those of plants, it can perform photosynthesis. When you see Leafeon asleep in a patch of sunshine, you'll know it is using photosynthesis to produce clean air."

I've always loved the fact the Leafeon has such a peaceful nature: shy, calm and pacifistic, a Pokémon that avoid fighting (unless when needed) and needs sunlight everyday. I also love its colours: cream fur with brownish paws, eyes and inner ears, with green, leaf-like tail and ears with matching tufts on its head and body.

I did my best to create a proper look for this Pokémon and, must say, I'm really really happy with the final outcome. It's exactly what I had in my mind, in every single detail - especially the colours: I remember spending quite some time trying to select each shade, to find the best ones, but it was worth it! *__*

After priming my lids I created the basic design, as a guide, with two eyepencil: I applied the ivory one all over the lid, while I used the bright green one to draw the leaf-like outer shape. I used the same pencils on the lower lid too. Then I applied the matching eyeshadows: a pale cream pigment on the lid and a bright jade green (Jade Pearl by NYX Cosmetics) on the outer corner, following the leaf design I previously made; same on the lower lid. I blended the green into the cream shade, obtaining a smooth transition with no need of using a third shade. On the crease I applied/blended a soft touch of Narciso, on the brow bone I applied Antique White while on the inner corner I applied Atom (all shades by NABLA Cosmetics).

Now the brown details. This Pokémon required a brown eyeliner (of course, black would be really out of place here), so this time I used a dark brow pigment instead of my usual black one to create the eyeliner. I kept the line really thin, because I didn't want it to overwhelm the lid shades.
On the lower lid (and waterline) I used a paler and brighter brown pigment that matches perfectly Leafeon's paws and eyes (and honestly I think I should have used this one for the liner too XD).
I completed this look by applying false lashes and mascara, as always, and defining my brows :D This was one of my very first time using Brow Pot in Mars by NABLA - and you can probably tell because I really overdid and packed on too much product XDDD

♕ The Pokémon Series ~ Umbreon ♕{Eeveelutions Mini Series}

Happy Easter everyone! :D Hope you're having a fintastic day! ♥

New episode of The Pokémon Series! We moved on to Gen II eeveelutions: last week we talked about Espeon, the psychic type Sun Pokémon; today I'm going to show you Umbreon, the dark type Moonlight Pokémon, aka the counterpart of Espeon! (And we're basically done with Gen II eeveelutions, next week we'll move on to Gen IV!)

Umbreon, the Moonlight Pokémon.

Type: Dark 

"Umbreon evolved as a result of exposure to the moon's waves. It hides silently in darkness and waits for its foes to make a move. The rings on its body glow when it leaps to attack."

Must say, when I first say Umbreon when they released Gen II back on 2000 it really scared me XD It really embodies the dark type, with its deep black fur and red eyes. But I also was intrigued by its gold rings, that glows in the dark and when it attacks. Over time, though, I end up liking and appreciating this mysterious Pokémon - and I was eager to create its look!
I had a very clear idea of what makeup I wanted to create for Umbreon: black all over the lid, with a gold ring in the middle; a very defined V shape on the outer corner, to represent its tail, of course with the gold band included. I still love the outcome (remember, I created this look months ago!), on a second thought I would probably make the ring less circular and more oval - as seen on Umbreon's legs and forehead - and the outer shape more slender and less bulky.

I applied a thin layer of eyeprimer first, then I applied a quite thick layer of Kohl Power Eye Pencil in Feline by MAC Cosmetics as a black base - as I wanted this look to be the blackest possible, just like Umbreon. I applied it on both lids and on the outer corner too, drawing the tail shape; I left two areas empty: one for the golden ring on the centre of the lid, and one band on the tail. There, I applied another eyepencil as a base (this time, a gold one) drawing the gold ring and the band. Once I was all set with both bases, I applied the eyeshadows on them. I applied a matte black pigment first, pressing it on the black base, being careful not to touch the golden areas. For the gold details, I used my favourite pure gold mineral eyeshadow in 24K by U-Makeitup. 

I decided to add a soft blend on the crease & lower lid area, keeping the outer corner shape neat and sharp. To do so, I used Fossil eyeshadow by NABLA Cosmetics as transition shade. On the inner corner I decided to apply a red colour - like Umbreon's eyes - so I used another eyeshadow by NABLA, Fahrenheit; on the brow bone, needless to say, I used Antique White.
I gave up on the eyeliner this time - I highly doubt it would stand out on such a black look! - so I skipped this step and moved on to the final touches: I applied Feline on my waterlines, added falses lashes and lastly applied mascara on both upper and lower lashes.

Edit: I almost forgot about the brows! As you already know, I usually define them with the same product (Eyebrow in Strut by MAC Cosmetic or Brow Pot in Mars by NABLA Cosmetics) - but this time, I decided to use a darker shade to better match Umbreon's vibes. So I used another Brow Pot by NABLA, this time in the shade Uranus.

♕ The Pokémon Series ~ Espeon ♕{Eeveelutions Mini Series}

New episode of The Pokémon Series! We're done with the first generation eeveelutions, so it's time to move on to the second generation ones! Gen II introduced two new evolutions, a psychic type and a dark type - and today I'm going to show you Espeon, the psychic eeveelution, along with its inspired look! 

Espeon, the Sun Pokémon.

Type: Psychic 

"Espeon is extremely loyal to any trainer it considers to be worthy. It is said that this Pokémon developed its precognitive powers to protect its trainer from harm."

I wasn't a huge fan of Espeon at first, but now I must admit it is quite cute and adorable! Its fur is short and lilac (thus this is its main colour), with a thin, forked tail, very big ears and tuft of fur underneath. It has purple eyes and a round, red gem right in the centre of its forehead (this red gem is peculiar of the psychic type - although not every Pokémon of this type has it - as it enhances psychic powers).

I designed a very simple look for Espeon that includes all its main characteristics: forked tail, red gem, purple ears, lilac fur and tufts. Speaking of that, I finally had the chance to use a FinisTerre mineral eyeshadow that my big sister sent me... It was just the perfect shade of lilac I needed! (Fairly enough, this shade is named Lilac XD)

After applying a thin layer of eyeprimer, I applied a white eyepencil all over the lid as a base to make the eyeshadow stand out more. With the same pencil, I drew on the inner corner the tuft patter that Espeon has under its ears, while on the outer corner I drew its forked tail. Then I applied the eyeshadows: Lilac Wonder by NABLA Cosmetics on the inner corner area, Lilac by FinisTerre all over the lid and the tail design - I pressed both shadows on the white base for a better result. On the crease I applied a matte mauve shadow (Circle by NABLA), while on the lower lid I applied Lilac again - but this time over a black base, as a little twist. Lastly, I used Narciso as transition shade and Antique White on my brow bone.

I decided to go for a bluish/purple eyeliner this time, to represent Espeon's elongated ears. In the picture I was using as a reference (which is the one I included in the picture above!) its ears looked way more bluish than purple, so I used a pigment in that shade to create the eyeliner (as I always do, just mixing it with some drops of Fix +). On a second thought, though, I wish I used a more purple shade - because, as you can see in the other pictures, Espeon's ears are decisively purple.
At this point I was almost done: I applied a purple eyepencil on my waterline, applied false lashes and mascara... As final touch, I applied a red rhinestone on my inner corner, to represent the gem that Espeon has on its forehead!

♕ The Pokémon Series ~ Jolteon ♕{Eeveelutions Mini Series}

New episode of The Pokémon Series! After the water-type eeveelution (Vaporeon) and the fire-type eeveelution (Flareon), today's the turn of the electric-type eeveelution: Jolteon!
This is going to be a pretty short post - this look is my least favourite, I honestly posted it just for the series' sake XD Plus, appearances aside, it's very easy two make and it won't take me long to explain how I achieved it!

Jolteon, the Lightning Pokémon.

Type: Electric

"Jolteon's cells generate a low level of electricity. This power is amplified by the static electricity of its fur, enabling the Pokémon to drop thunderbolts. The bristling fur is made of electrically charged needles."

Jolteon's main colours are white and yellow, as you can see - and since I don't own any real yellow eyeshadows I think you can imagine my struggle to create this look XD I had to replace it with gold shades and it worked nicely, actually - but I'd still like to try it again with a proper yellow shadow! 

The keyword of this look is "spikes" - as Jolteon has bristly and spiky fur - so I wanted to achieve that particular effect. To do so, after the usual eyeliner step, I grabbed two eyepencil - a gold and a white one - to design the spikes. I started from the inner corner and slowly moved outwards - switching colours where needed. Once I was happy with the pattern, I applied the eyeshadows to fix the pencils (and to add more colour to them). I applied a pale yellow pigment on the inner corner and a gold on the outer corner - both of them were shimmery; on the lid area, instead, I applied a white matte eyeshadow - trying not to mess up the spikes (easier said than done!).

On the lower lid I kept it simpler and softer: I did apply both pencils and shadows - but no spikes. On the brow bone, I applied Antique White - again being very careful not to blend away/ruin the spikes.
The hard part was over, and I moved to the final steps. I applied eyeliner - which I kept very thin but I winged out a lot, and I also made pointy on the tear duct area; I applied a black eyepencil on the waterlines and a black eyeshadow on the lashline. Lastly, I applied false lashes and mascara - and I was done.
