♕ Make Up Look ~ Spirit of the Ocean ♕

Hey there guppies ♥ Long time no see!
Sorry for the huge lack of new posts, I've been crazily busy with my midterm exams at the makeup school I'm attending - which now are over, but we're already planning our finals! That's insane, I know, this course it's really demanding - totally worth the effort though.
So bear with me in the next few months while I work on my final exams!

Today I'm going to show you a very simple look I totally LOVE - using some of my favourite eyeshadows by Sugarpill and some amazing blue glitters I got a while back! Not exactly an appropriate look for the current season but don't worry, I do have a couple of Christmas looks ready to post on here ;D

I had no particular inspiration for this look - except I wanted to use the Ibiza Rocks glitters by Feather and Fox (they sent me three different glitters and these are absolutely my favourite!). I decided to go for a bright blue look that could match this amazing shade of glitters, with a pop of gold on the inner corner. Although it was extremely simple - I mean, let's be real, this is not an elaborate makeup look - it totally stole my heart. 

After priming my lids I worked right away on the crease blending - like I usually do, lately; I used Velocity eyeshadow by Sugarpill, I applied it with a pencil brush on my crease, outer corner and lower lid areas and then I carefully blended it using a fluffy blending brush. On my upper lid I applied Kim Chi eyeshadow by Sugarpill - and I think I also added a tad on my lower lids too. Home Sweet Home is now my go-to transition shade when it comes to blue eyelooks, so I used it smooth the blending all around, on both upper and lower lids.
Once I was happy with all the blending - it always takes me a while to be fully satisfied - I applied a mixture of Vanitas and Byzantine eyeshadows from the Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette by NABLA Cosmetics on my inner corners. Lastly, I applied Nocturne on my lower lashline and Antique White on my brow bones. 

That's all for the eyeshadows, now let's move to the details. First of all, needless to say, eyeliner: I used the Epic Ink Liner* by NYX Professional Makeup to draw a classical winged line - quite thick on the outer corner and with a small point on the inner corner - nothing complicated at all.
Then I added the glitters: simple pattern, I applied some on the inner part of my eyes, right below my brow bone, and some below the eyeliner wing. I packed it quite a bit because I wanted an extra sparkly, extra rich result *-*
Finally, I applied a black eyepencil on my waterline, then false lashes and mascara to complete this eye look ;D

♕ Make Up Look ~ Dark Dreams ♕{Feat. Nabla Cosmetics ~ Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette}

First look using the new Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette by NABLA Cosmetics, which debuted about one month ago (geez, time flies!). I'm working on a detailed first impressions post about this palette - hopefully coming up this week, or next one at the very latest. (I don't usually wait all this time to post an overview, but this time I didn't rush since the palette went sold out in about two days and it hasn't been restocked yet)
Meanwhile, I thought I could post this look I made during the Halloween period, since it features almost all eyeshadows from this palette! ;D

Halloween is usually all about creepy and bleeding makeup looks - but if you been following me for a while, then you know I'm not exactly into spooky looks... I'm a little too sensitive XD
So I decided, about one week before Halloween, to do a dark yet glamorous look - using this palette and another new entry I wanted to try.

The shades I picked from this palette are Delirium, Inception, Lullaby and Immaculate - respectively: main lid shade, crease shade, transition shade and inner corner highlighter. I'm really happy with all these shadow - even Delirium which is a little... rebellious, so to speak. But I managed to tame it u.u
Since this palette comes in a starred packaging, I thought about recreating the starred effect - but, since it was still an Halloween inspired look I decided to use black stars instead of gold stars. I used some black glitters to do so - Morticia* by Glitter Palace, which is a mix of black stars, hexagons, circles and fine black dust. I used the stars all over my outer corner, while I used the rest of the mix on my eyeliner to make it sparkly *_*

First of all I primed my lids - then as an additional, coloured base, I applied a black eyepencil all over my lids and blended it using my ring finger. This little trick usually enhances dark eyeshadows - and I hoped it would make Delirium stand out much more... But it didn't worked that much this time: instead of enhancing it, the black base 'dimmed' Delirium a bit. But it did reduce the fallout, which is good (especially with this eyeshadows that has a lot of fallout).
Anyway, as you can guess once I was done with the black base I applied Delirium all over the lid and blending it upwards, on the crease.
As crease shade I used Inception, which gets along with Delirium so nicely; I applied it also on the outer corner and lower lid (where I later overlaid a little bit of Delirium).
I blended Inception using a clean brush at first, then I added the transition shade - Lullaby, which complements this look wonderfully *_* The last shade from the Dreamy Eyeshadow Palette I used is Immaculate, which I applied on my inner corners.
At this point I was pretty much done with the eyeshadows: all I had to do was apply my brow bone shade (Antique White) and define my lower lashline with a black shadow (Nocturne).

Now the fun part: eyeliner & glitters! I used the Epic Ink Liner in Black by NYX Professional Makeup to trace a quite classical winged line, with a sharp point on the inner corner area. Although I really liked how it looked on its own, I decided to spice it up by applying some black glitters over it. So I used the smallest and finest glitters from Morticia* by Glitter Palace and I layered them over the black line. The result was a magical and mysterious sparkle that was mesmerizing in person!
Then I added the stars, which again come from the Morticia glitters: I applied them one by one, only on the outer corner area (I didn't go any further because I feared the look would end up being too crowded). But I added just one star on my inner corner, I thought it looked cute ♥
Once I was happy with all the stars' placement, I completed this look by applying a black eyepencil - the same I used as a base previously - on my waterline, falsies and mascara.

♕ Halloween 2017 ♕ The Joker ♕{Feat. Glitter Palace}

Happy Halloween everyone! :D

Can't believe it's already October 31st, time really flies! Let's celebrate with a themed look - not the spookiest, not the creepiest and probably not the most original... But when I received the Halloween glitter collection by Glitter Palace, I saw that one of them was named after the Joker... And I knew I had to do a reboot look for this Halloween!

This look is very special to me because it's the very first one that 'features' my recent investment - my ring light. Since I've moved, I've been struggling with the lighting - to the point I realized that I had to buy one if I wanted to keep up my work on both this blog and my Instagram page. I definitely can tell the difference, can you as well? :D

Compared to last year version of Suicide Squad's Joker (which you can see here), this one is simpler in some ways - yet it's probably more character correct. I used more green shades, and the purple/black glitters are just the perfect addiction to complete this look. I kept the little "J" detail though (I loved it in last year's look) and added the laugh above my eyebrow (the Joker has this tattoo on his chest, I couldn't find a better placement on my eye XD). So glad I have the NYX Professional Makeup eyeliners, they made everything so easy - especially the Hella Fine liner from the That's the Point range. It has the finest tip ever, that's what I used for the "J" and the "hahahahaha" details!

After priming my lids, I started off by applying Midori eyeshadow by Sugarpill all over my lid, up to the crease and blending it towards the outer corner too (I wanted the green to be  really predominant). I blended it using Acidberry by Sugarpill until I created a soft, smooth V shaped-blending; to add depth and definition to the crease and outer corner I applied a pinch of Nocturne eyeshadow by NABLA (a matte black, simple as that). On my brow bone I applied Antique White eyeshadow by NABLA, as usual - and I used it to perfect the blending even more. Perfectionist much? XD
On my lower lid I applied 2AM by Sugarpill, and I defined my lower lashline using Nocturne; lastly, I applied Frozen eyeshadow by NABLA on my inner corner.

Now the liners: first of all, I did the main winged line, using the Epic Ink Liner* by NYX Professional Makeup. Not too thick, not too think, with less slanted (than usual) wing a small detail on the inner corner.
Using the Hella Fine* liner from the That's the Point range (again by NYX Professional Makeup) I did the "J" above my cheekbone and the "hahahahaha" above my eyebrow tail. And I this point... I realized that I hadn't applied my foundation yet D: Panic! I applied it and I dabbed it around the details the best I could (you can tell if you look closely around my eyebrow area). This is what happens when you're so excited about a look, to the point that you forget some steps along the way XD
Anyway, after fixing the foundation issue, I went ahead and applied the glitters: I used The Joker* loose glitters by Glitter Palace.
Finally, I completed the look by applying a black eyepencil on my waterline, false lashes and mascara.

♕ Halloween 2017 ♕ Bat Wing Eyeliner ♕{Feat. Glitter Palace}

I've just realized Halloween is only 11 days away - so I decided to put the other looks waiting in the drafts on hold and to go ahead with the Halloween series. I've done only one look so far - aka this one (apart from the Disney Villains looks which are kind of an Instagram exclusive as of now) - but I thought it was better to start right away! Also because next week I'm going to post only hauls probably (the Sugarpill one and the NABLA one). So without any further ado, let's get started!

This year's Halloween series will feature Glitter Palace's Halloween Collection* and also the new That's the Point* eyeliners by NYX Professional Makeup - which I received just recently! As you can imagine, the glitters are all fit for Halloween - while the eyeliners, with their different tip sizes and shapes, are perfect to design and draw basically everything.
I plan to do as many makeup looks as I can using all of these products... So I have to run, time flies! *tick tock*

The main inspiration for this look is, once again, Swayze Morgan (@swayzemorgan on Instagram - check her out if you haven't already!), who created an intense Halloween look featuring a dramatic bat wing eyeliner one month ago or so... And I've been wanting to try it since then! *-* To achieve this particular design, I used both the Epic Ink Liner (for the sharp edges) and one of the new That's the Point liners - in this case, I chose Put a Wing on It* (it has a big pointed tip, quite stiff, perfect for any kind of dramatic winged line).

As for the glitters, I chose the orange ones - Chucky*, which is a mix of medium orange hexagons, tiny black hexagons, fine orange glitters and even glow in the dark hexagons, with a pinch of neon orange strands. In one word: bomb! *___*

After priming my lids I started off by applying Suburbia eyeshadow by Sugarpill - a matte coral - on the crease, outer corner and lower lid. On my lids (both upper and lower) I applied Flamepoint by Sugarpill - which is a bright matte orange that screams Halloween XD I blended it with Suburbia to create a soft transition (easier done than said, Sugarpill eyeshadow are so incredibly blendeable, it's unreal *____*).
On my inner corner I used Clementine, a shimmery orange that goes so well with Flamepoint; on my brow bone I applied Antique White eyeshadow - which I used also as transition shade this time - and I defined my lower lashline using Nocturne (all shadows by NABLA Cosmetics). 

As usual, before applying the glitter I did the eyeliner design. This time I used two different eyeliners, both by NYX Professional Makeup: I applied the Epic Ink Liner* on my lid, then I went on using Put a Wing on It* (from the That's the Point range) to draw the big, outer wing. Then I used the Epic Ink Liner to add the details of the wing - aka the 'spikes' and sharp edges.
Once I was done and happy with the bat wing design (which took me a while), I applied the glitters: I used Chucky* loose glitters by Glitter Palace and I applied them on both my upper and lower lids (I used my lash glue to make it stick to my skin).
At this point the look was almost complete: I applied some dramatic eyelashes (Double Up lashes n° 201 by Ardell Beauty), mascara, and the usual black eyepencil on my waterline... And I was 100% done!

♕ The Mermaid Series ~ Mermaid Tail ♕

Happy mermaid Monday everyone :D

Today's look is probably the most difficult I've ever done so far! It's inspired by a look/mini tutorial by @giuliannaa on Instagram - whenever I see mermaid tails/flukes/scales I have to try those looks as soon as possible XD Althought - spoiler - I decided to recreate my own tail/fluke, so this look is so me - more than ever! *_*
I was (and I still am) extremely satisfied with this look, because it features all my favourite colours, glitters, and of course it's mermaid themed... But it was SO challenging and tiresome to make! Totally worth it, though: it's mesmerizing!
On a side note, I think it could be a nice Halloween makeup idea, especially if you're not into creepy/scary makeup looks (like me XD). 

As I said, it's inspired by a look by Giulianna Maria on Instagram (click here to see her original look). I followed quite closely her mini tutorial, but I completely changed all the colours and, most importantly, the fluke shape. Instead of replicating her design, I decided to replicate my own fluke shape! Wait, I'm going to put a picture right away :D

Here it is! That's my tail and that's my very own fluke - and it was my guide for this look! So basically this makeup is dedicated to my own tail XD I thought it was so cool ;D
That being said, you can see why I used light green, light blue, teal and shades like that... Since I was recreating my tail, so I did my best to use the same colours, in addition to the fluke design - if that makes sense. 

The first part was actually pretty easy: before creating the complex tail and scales pattern, I had to create the basic eye look. After priming my lids, I started off by applying Mochi eyeshadow by Sugarpill on my crease, to start building the blending. I intensified this shade using Midori (another Sugarpill eyeshadow) - and I did these two steps on my lower lid too.
On my upper lid I applied Shark Bait eyeshadow by Makeup Geek Cosmetics, and I used Shore Thing (from the same brand) as transition shade to achieve the smoothest blending possible on the outer corner and lower lid. On my inner corner I applied Frostine eyeshadow by Sugerpill; on my brow bone I applied Antique White by NABLA Cosmetics and I defined my lower lashline using Nocturne (also by NABLA).

Now the crazy part. First of all I carved out the tail/fin shape using my foundation (Pro Longwear in NW15 by MAC Cosmetics): using a flat brush, I applied it to erase the colours underneath and also to have a guide for the later design. Once it dried, I applied Kim Chi by Sugarpill all over it, as base colour. At this point it was time to grab the eyeliner and draw the scales and the fins - I used the Epic Ink Liner in Black by NYX Professional Makeup. First of I outlined the shape on the lid (no scales for now) and to draw the fluke. Then I took Kim Chi again and filled in where needed (basically the fluke, where I also added a touch of Shark Bait and Nocturne, to add depth).
Once I was happy with the main design I added all the small details: first of all I worked on the scales (which took forever, seriously) and the lines in the fluke. When I was done, I added the glitters - I used all GlitterTubes pressed glitters: I used Dory for the scales, while I used Emerald and Splash on the fluke.
At this point I was pretty much done: to complete the look I applied the usual black eyepencil on my lower waterline, then false lashes and mascara... And finally I was done!
