♕ Rainbow Eyeliner ♕{100 Days of Make Up ~ Day 75}

I've always wanted to try rainbow eyeliner - love how it looks, so bright and colorful - and I finally had the chance during the 100 Days of Make Up Challenge. It was really fun - but find all the right shades was quite challenging, to be honest XD I literally had to dig into my pigments stash, trying to find something I could use for red, yellow and orange. The other colours weren't such a big deal, I have tons of blues and greens and purple - but it the end I manage to put together the legendary rainbow eyeliner XD

I wanted to keep the focus on the rainbow liner, so I decided to stay basic on the rest - creating a soft look that could go along without overwhelming it. A pale but bright shade on the lid, a discreet matte shade on the crease - while on the lower lid I used all black shades to add some contrast and definition.

I applied, after the eyeprimer, a white base all over the lid. On that, I applied Atom by NABLA Cosmetics - that pale and bright shade I was talking about previously. On the inner corner I applied Angel from the Shade & Glow range by NABLA Cosmetics - basically an highlighter I just LOVE to use as eyeshadow. From the same range, I used Gotham (a sculpting powder, this time) on the crease, to add a sort of gentle definition to it. On the brow bone, as always, I applied Antique White.

Now it comes the fun and crazy part: the rainbow liner XD Small premise: all the following eyeshadows listed where used wet with Fix +.
I started from the inner corner with the red shade, and I used Grenadine - not the purest red ever, but he did the trick. I moved to the orange and I used two different eyeshadows: Lazy Days first, then a glittery pigment in a paler orange-y shade that blended wonderfully with the next shade - yellow. I don't own any proper yellow eyeshadow sadly, so I had to use a pale, champagne colour which worked quite fine. After that, I moved to the green - I used a loose eyeshadow in Jade Pearl by NYX, which I carefully blended with the yellow. Next colour: light blue; I used Dreamy Aquamarine by U-makeitup. For the blue/indigo I used two different eyeshadows by NABLA: Eternity and Baltic. Lastly, I used Cattleya as the violet, the final colour of the rainbow!

Final steps: I applied a black eyepencil on the waterline and lashline, then I applied a matte black shadow (Nocturne by NABLA) on the lower lid. I applied false lashes and mascara and I was done!

That's it for this look - quite a long process, I know, but 100% worth it! I looove how the rainbow liner looks *___* I wish I had more proper shades, especially for the red and yellow parts, but I think it works anyway!

♕ Starry Night Sky ♕{100 Days of Make Up ~ Day 68}

Today's look was part of 100 Days of Make Up Challenge and it's probably the most liked between all the one hundred looks I made back then. Which still surprise me a bit, because is such a simple look I made in, like, less than 20 minutes... With just a handful of eyeshadows and a glittery pigment that added a very glowing touch to the whole look - and probably is the main reason of its great appreciation. 

That glittery pigment is a discontinued one from the late Jade Minerals, the darkest black filled up with tons of silver glitters. It always made me think about a starry sky - hence the title and the inspiration behind this look.

As I said previously, this look is extremely simple: basically it consists in three different layers of black (base, matte shadow, shimmery pigment), some blending and negative space as an additional twist - made with just a q-tip.
And it really looked like a small, starry night sky on lids! ♥

After the ever-present eyeprimer step, I applied a thick layer of Feline Eye Kohl by MAC Cosmetics - it's the most perfect black base ever. I gently pressed my finger on it, slightly blending it towards the crease, then I applied over it a matte eyeshadow (Nocturne by NABLA Cosmetics) to set the base in place. I did the same on the lower lid.

Now it's time for the glittery pigment: I applied it on both lower and upper lid, pressing it into the black layer previously made. I pressed it to make sure the glitters would stick better on the lid (even though some fall out happened anyway). Please note that, for now, the outer corner presents the usual soft C shape that connects the upper lid with the lower.

I blended the black shape very carefully, trying not to brush the glitters away. I used Narciso as transition shade, to soften the blending as much as possibile. On the inner corner I applied Frozen, on the brow bone I applied Antique White.

Now the fun part. I decided to add a little twist, a small negative space on the outer corner. So I took a q-tip, dipped it into makeup remover, and then I placed it on the outer corner - where the lower and upper lid connect - and simply swiped it outwards. Sounds scary, I know, but the key is to be resolute and quick. Don't think or hesitate, just swipe it with one gesture, you'll get a perfect negative space with clear and sharp edges!

I completed the look with false lashes, mascara and black eyepencil on the waterliner (I used the same eye kohl I used for the base). And we're done!

It still amazes me how such an easy look turned out so cool and special - and so loved! I wish I could capture properly the shimmering effect in picture - I mean, yes, you can clearly see the glitters this time, but trust me, in real life it was like a glitter overdose XD I really felt like I was wearing a galaxy on my eyes. And reminds me that I need way more glitters in my life!

♕ Halloween 2016 ♕ Mermaid Look ♕

I've just realized that Halloween is right around the corner - and I haven't posted any of the related looks I planned yet! D: And I have, like, 4 makeup I put aside to celebrate Halloween - plus one more unreleased on my Instagram yet. And now I have less than one week left. Greeeeat.

Okay, enough with this rant. Let's start this small Halloween series!
As I said, I made some of these looks during the past months - and then saved them for Halloween. Must say, I'm not into creepy, bloody and scary looks - I'm really sensitive, even though I know it's just fake blood and wax I get scared by SFX looks XD So, sorry in advance if my makeup looks might result a little too "quiet" for Halloween XD

I made today's look during the 100 Days of Make Up challenge back on May, inspired by an amazing mermaid makeup by lucinda212 on Instagram (check her out, she's beyond skilled and talented!).

Breathtaking, isn't it? *___* Love at first sight, I had to try it - even though I don't own any kind of glitters (I-need-glitters!!), just an handful on clear crystals and I also don't have the matte shades required. But who cares? No big deal! I decided to follow the pattern and the main colour scheme overall - but to adapt it to my needs and preferences, adding my personal touch. 

First of all: eyeprimer. I applied it all over the lid as usual, but this time I needed to apply it over my eyebrow, on my nose bridge and cheek. I did the scales first, so I took a piece of a net fabric and placed it where needed, dabbing it with different shadows. I used two light blue shades (Dreamy Aquamarine by U-Makeitup and an old, discontinued matte pigment named Skyline) and a darker one (Babylon by NABLA Cosmetics).

On the lid I applied, starting from the inner corner, Babylon, Atmosphere and Aurum. I draw I neat shape on the inner corner, while I blended out the lighter shade on the outside - being careful not to wipe out the scales. I draw the line under the eyebrow with Babylon, and I applied over it a light, bright blue pigment. I dabbed the same shadow on the inner corner too. I used the Skyline pigment wet as eyeliner, winging it out - the original look featured a darker, not winged eyeliner.

I applied false lashes and mascara, dabbing the lower ones with the bright blue pigment. Then I applied a teal eyepencil on my waterline and I was done with the lid.
I moved to the eyebrows: I used bright pigment to draw and fill the first part of the brow, stopping right before the tail. There I applied Dreamy Aquamarine, creating a soft gradient. Both pigments were used wet.

I completed the lood by adding crystals here and there. I really wish I had more in different shades and sizes! They add so much light to the scales pattern... Making it look like real scales. Same for the glitter, which are totally absent here sadly.

This look was really really challenging and time consuming - but totally worth it! I had so much fun, it was so sparkly, bright and mermaid-y - 100% my cup of tea! *___* I should wear something like this when I go mermaiding during summer - it matches my tail so well :p

♕ Jewel Eyeliner ♕{100 Days of Make Up ~ Day 33}

During the 100 Days of Make Up Challenge I learnt to experiment and play with makeup like I never did in the past. I tried different techniques and styles - sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing. I also learnt to improvise, even on those days when I had zero idea and inspiration. The makeup look I'm going to show you today was born on one of those days... And turned out pretty cool! I used crystals to create a jewel eyeliner - hence the title!

That day I was uninspired - which is quite depressing actually - but I pushed myself to create something anyway. When I feel that way, I tend to grab my favourite shadows, the ones that make me feel comfortable the most - and so I did that day too. I picked up Frozen, Babylon, Baltic (all eyeshadows by NABLA Cosmetics - the Mermaid Collection wasn't there yet), an handful of crystals and started playing around. 

At the beginning I thought I would do a normal smokey eyes, using dark blues and greens with an hint of silver. So, after applying the eyeprimer, I applied all over the lid the Feline Eye Kohl by MAC Cosmetics - blending it out with a pencil brush. I wanted no sharp edges, so I did a lot of preliminary blending - because if you blend nicely the base, you are halfway done. Then, over the black layer, I applied Baltic - a dark shade on its own, that gained more depth thanks to the base. On the crease, I applied Eternity (which is lighter and brighter than Baltic) and Babylon, to add a touch of petrol green to the look.  I blended and blended (again, so sharp edges, just soft shapes), creating a C shape. I used Fossil as transition colour, and did the very same steps on the lower lid too. 

As I said before, I had some crystals - so I decided to place them randomly at first, on the outer corner. I placed the big teal one right at the end, where the lids connect, then I placed a clear crystal right to it... And another... And another...
Then, the inspiration! Crystal eyeliner, jewel style. I just had to keep placing the rhinestones on the lid, following the upper lashline as close as I could. When I was halfway I realized I didn't have enough small crystals - panic! What could I do? Then I thought I could just use Frozen, my favourite silver eyeshadow EVER, wet as eyeliner... And create small dots to replace the missing crystals.
So that's what I did - and it worked! Yes, I'm still surprised by the result XD

Final steps, as usual: Antique White on the brow bone, falsies, mascara, black eyepencil on the waterline. Oh, and Frozen on the inner corner - it's so precious!

So here's an unplanned, unexpected, totally improvised look that, in the end, was a success ♥ I'm still impressed on how it turned out, since I was so uninspired that day! This crystal eyeliner really looks like a jewel - and I wish I could capture its sparkles and brightness in picture!

♕ Peacock Eyes ♕{100 Days of Make Up ~ Day 29}

Today I'm going to start posting again some of the make up I created for the 100 Days of Make Up Challenge - I knew I said I wanted to write a blog post for each one, but I soon realized that it was pretty much a mission impossible. For two reasons: first, the huge amount of time needed to post one hundred different looks; second, I keep doing new looks almost every day or so - meaning that if I focus only on this "old" series I'd leave behind the newer ones. And so on.

I came to the conclusion that I needed to catch up quickly - so I did a massive selection, keeping just an handful of looks to post here. I really hope to go through them in a couple of months at most. 

Let's get started with today's look - as you can tell, inspired by a peacock feather!

I've always had a thing for peacock feathers, mainly because of the colour combination they features. Blue, teal, green... Mesmerizing *__* I've been wanting to do an inspired look for a while and this challenge was the perfect opportunity to do so. It was quite challenging because of the brown - you know I don't really like browns, I barely use them - but in the end it was sooo fun to make!

After applying my usual eyeprimer I started by applying a bright blue shade on the inner corners, blending it towards the lids, and I added a touch of silver (Frozen by NABLA Cosmetics) on the inner part. Right after that I applied a a petrol green (Babylon by NABLA), blending it into the blue; then I applied a bright green pigment (Jade Pearl by NYX Cosmetics), again blending it with the previous shade. This look was all about applying and blending backwards, to create a soft gradient with all the shades involved. Same stps on the lower lids too, and partially into the crease.  

Now the tricky part - for me. I chose a matte, deep brown pigment for the outer corner which I rarely use. I built the colour step by step, starting from the outer corner and going up into the crease and blending it out to create a soft V shape. I blended, and blended, and blended. Wax on, wax off. I used Narciso as transition colour, to adjust the blending when need and to create a smooth transition towards the eyebrows. On the brow bone I applied Antique White (both by NABLA, no need to tell).

I decided to go for a double eyeliner, so I first traced the gold line by using a gold pigment wet with Fix +, then the usual black line below. I'm such an eyeliner addicted XD

After that, I applied a black eyepencil on my waterline, added false lashes and applied mascara. My eyebrows here were done with Spiked, the Eyebrow pencil I used before I switched to Strut - a more appropriate shade for a redhead! 

I have no word to tell you how much I LOVED this look *_* I mean, seriously. One of my favourites ever, ever after months. And yes, even though it contains lots of brown XD I love the colour combination and the gradient and the blending and the double eyeliner... Well, I just love everything about this look XD

♕ Colourful Spring Eyes ♕{100 Days of Make Up ~ Day 13}

Giorno 13 della 100 Days of Makeup challenge!

Il look di oggi è nato in una di quelle giornate super-frenetiche ma, nonostante il poco tempo a disposizione, sono riuscita a realizzare qualcosa di un pochino più elaborato e dai colori vivaci. È il primo tentativo di - come lo chiamo io - cut crease curvo a mezzaluna, tecnica che sono riuscita recentemente a padroneggiare ma che in quel periodo (circa tre mesi fa) non mi risultava ancora facile da realizzare. 

Day 13 of 100 Days of Make Up Challenge! 

Another look created on a very busy day - this time a little more elaborate with bright colours. It's actually my first attempt to do the "half moon cut crease" - I recently mastered the technique but, back on those days almost three months ago, I still struggled with it quite a bit.

Il cut crease a mezzaluna mi ha sempre intrigato moltissimo ed erano secoli che volevo cimentarmici. In questo caso il risultato era ben lontano dall'effetto desiderato (forma netta e colori ben separati l'uno dall'altro) ma tutto sommato questa versione imprecisa e soffice non mi dispiace. L'accostamento di colori poi è uno dei miei preferiti, immagino che la cosa abbia influito positivamente in sede di giudizio finale XD

Half moon cut crease always intrigued me, I've been wanting to try it for ages! Must say, this first attempt wasn't perfect at all - not even remotely defined and sharp as it should've been, but I liked it anyway. Probably the colour combination (one of my favourite ever) affected my opinion XD

• Primer occhi + base bianca sulla palpebra mobile, base nera a C nella piega ;
• Ho applicato l'ombretto Aurum  (oro freddo) all'angolo interno;
• Ho iniziato applicando un pigmento lilla chiaro su tutta la palpebra mobile;
• Nella piega, seguendo la base nera, ho applicato prima Mimesis (prugna scuro), a cui ho sovrapposto Moonrise (viola spento), cercando di ottenere una forma a C definita;
• Ho sfumato i due ombretti di cui sopra nell'angolo esterno ottenendo una forma soffice ed arrotondata;
• Ho applicato Narciso (marrone chiaro, neutro e opaco) di Nabla Cosmetics nella palpebra fissa come colore di transizione;
• Nella prima metà di palpebra inferiore ho applicato Atmosphere (verde acqua), nella seconda Babylon (teal intenso); 
• Nell'arcata sopraccigliare ho applicato, come sempre, Antique White (avorio) di Nabla Cosmetics;
• Infine, ho completato il look con matita nera, ciglia finte e mascara.

• Eyeprimer & white base on the lid, black base in a C shape on the crease ;
• I applied Aurum (antique gold) on my inner corner;
• All over the lid, I applied a pale lilac pigment;
• On the crease I applied Mimesis (deep plum) first, then Moonrise (dark violet) over it;
• I blended patiently those two shades on the outer corner, creating a soft, C shaped blend. 
• I applied Narciso (medium light brown, matte) eyeshadow by Nabla Cosmetics as transition colour;
• On the first half of the lower lid I applied Atmosphere (aqua green), while on the second half I used Babylon (deep teal);
• On my brow bone I applied, as usual, Antique White (ivory) by Nabla Cosmetics;
• Lastly, black eyepencil, falsies and mascara.

♕ Paciugopedia 3.0 ♕ Episode 10 ♕{100 Days of Make Up ~ Day 92}

Ciao Principesse!

Siamo arrivate al decimo - nonché terzultimo - episodio della Paciugopedia ideata da Svampi! Anche stavolta facciamo un salto temporale nella rubrica 100 Days of Make Up, che attualmente sul blog è arrivata al giorno 12 (lentezza ne abbiamo?) ma che su Instagram, proprio con questo look, è arrivata al giorno 92... Insomma, entrambe le iniziative stanno per concludersi, sigh!

Questo mese arrivo un filino in ritardo rispetto al mio solito, a mia difesa posso dire che sono stata distratta dall'arrivo della Naked 3 - su cui non vedevo l'ora di mettere le pinne da secoli *_* In questo la tempistica è stata eccellente, devo dire, perché la bellissima palette di Urban Decay mi è stata utilissima in questo makeup, se non addirittura fondamentale!
Ma non è il solo prodotto a debuttare sul blog oggi: per questo makeup ho usato anche i miei quattro nuovi pennelli MAC che già amo e di cui intendo parlavi prestissimo! *_*

Rispolvero le nozioni base su questa rubrica a beneficio di coloro che non la conoscono: vengono proposti un certo numero di make up (nelle scorse edizioni erano 10, in questa sono 12) a cui bisogna ispirarsi, adattandoli ai propri occhi ed ai prodotti a propria disposizione. Nel collage qui sopra trovate la selezione di quest'anno :D

La cadenza è mensile (in passato era settimanale) il che rende il progetto non solo più longevo ma anche più facile da gestire, soprattutto per chi (come me) è incasinata XD 

Quest'anno non ci sono particolari vincoli di orario (io pubblicherò sempre alle 12 come nelle precedenti edizioni, un po' per abitudine, un po' per la tradizione XD) e possono partecipare tutte coloro che lo desiderano, non solo le blogger: potete postare il vostro make up su Facebook, oppure su Instagram... Dove vi viene meglio insomma :D

Questo è il look in questione, decisamente NON nelle mie corde - ma scommetto che lo immaginavate XD Non solo per via dell'abbondante presenza di marronazzi, ma anche per l'accoppiata col giallo - credo proprio di poterlo eleggere "trucco s-preferito" di questa edizione della Paciugopedia!

Come forse avrete già notato dalla foto anteprima, sono rimasta fedele all'originale solo fino ad un certo punto: da un lato perché non avevo i giusti marronazzi, dall'altro perché ho allungato la sfumatura esterna più del dovuto per ragioni pratiche (se non l'avessi fatto, sul mio occhio si sarebbe visto ben poco!)

Dopo aver applicato, come di consueto, il mio primer occhi di fiducia, ho cominciato a lavorare sulla palpebra mobile. Innanzitutto ho applicato Dreamer, un insolito argento con riflessi dorati che confesso di usare pochissimo, su tutta la palpebra in modo omogeneo. Ad esso ho sovrapposto per buona parte di palpebra un altro ombretto da me poco sfruttato, Sandy - un sabbia dorato molto luminoso. All'angolo interno ho applicato un mix di Antique White (il mio amaterrimo avorio di NABLA) insieme ad un ombretto proveniente dalla Naked 3, cioè Strange (un bianco rosato delizioso).

Fatto ciò, sono passata ad occuparmi della sfumatura esterna. Sono partita dall'alto, applicando innanzitutto Antique White nell'arcata sopraccigliare (come faccio sempre), poi applicando Narciso in maniera uniforme come colore di transizione, ed infine un mix di un pigmento minerale marrone con l'ombretto Factory (proveniente anche lui dalla Naked 3) all'interno della piega e all'attaccatura delle ciglia.

Per dare profondità al tutto ho usato Blackheart (anch'esso facente parte della Naked 3), un nero con riflessi rossastri: l'ho applicato nella piega, all'angolo esterno, nella palpebra inferiore, dopodiché l'ho pazientemente sfumato verso l'esterno. 

Il tocco finale, il tocco di luce è dato dal sempre splendido Citron di Nabla, qui applicato nella prima metà di palpebra inferiore. 

Il trucco originale non prevedeva né matita nella rima interna né eyeliner, quindi ho saltato totalmente questi step (per me in genere fondamentali) ma non ho voluto rinunciare alle ciglia finte. Debuttano anche loro per la prima volta sul blog: sono le n° 34, lunghissime e curvatissime *_*

Lo step conclusivo è stato il mascara, come sempre da più di un anno l'amato Le Film Noir di Nabla. 

In definitiva non posso dire di aver amato questo look - troppo spento per i miei gusti, nonostante il tocco dorato... E mi rendo conto di averlo un po' stravolto, perché guardando l'originale mi viene da pensare che l'unica cosa somigliante è l'oro nella palpebra inferiore XD Ma gli riconosco comunque il merito di avermi fatto finalmente spolverare Dreamer e Sandy e di avermi fatto scoprire che usati in combo non sono affatto male!
